ASAA Annual Meeting

 

  • Present Directors; Daren Shumway, Daniel Mercer, Jeff Maynard

 

  • Present Members; Kathy Crawford, Brett Higgins, O.C. Mangold, Joani Mangold,
  • Bob Vaughn, Julie Vaughn

 

  • Lunch was served

 

  • Acting President Daren Shumway called the meeting to order at 1:15pm.

 

  • Jeff Maynard read the previous Board of Directors meeting summary

 

  • Jeff Maynard gave the treasures report

 

  • No old business was discussed
  • New business:
  • IT Risk Managers Insurance program was discussed.  Was discussed and tabled

 

  • By-laws - A lively discussion was held as we went through each article of the by-laws and debated the benefits of changing them.  The by-law revisions as stated during the meeting were approved.
  • Arizona State Auctioneer Certification Program: We discussed the idea of developing a certification program. It was decided that the Association Manager should move forward with development.
  • It was voted on and approved to change the title Executive Director to Association Manager.  This was done to eliminate any confusion of the Manager being a voting Director.
  • The Association Manager presented several newly designed items; ID card, Membership certificate, ASAA banner, etc.
  • The Association Manager presented a marketing idea; the association will make available to it's members lanyards with www.azauctioneers.org printed on them. The association will also make available staff ID badges. Once we have the lanyards we will post the details of this benefit.
  • The ASAA Website Marketing Program was presented and revised. We will make this program available to the members during the month of November.
  • It was also discussed and approved that the Secretary / Treasurer will be bonded.  The cost of the bond will be paid by the association.
  • Elections were held.  The following positions were filled by majority vote.
  • President - Jeff Maynard (expires March 5, 2011)
  • Vice-President- Brett Higgins (expires March 5, 2011)
  • Secretary / Treasurer - Daren Shumway (expires March 5, 2011)
  • Director - Maverick Cummins was extended one year (expires March 5, 2012)
  • Director - Daniel Mercer (expires March 5, 2011)
  • Meeting was adjourned
  • The Board of Directors had a meeting immediately following the general meeting.
  • The Association Manager position was discussed and approved to continue for the next 30 days. The Association Manager will be required to keep a log documenting the hours worked and tasks completed.
  • It was confirmed that the Winter Social / Contest will be December 14, 2009
  • Additional details will be decided by email communications
  • The Board of Directors adjourned.
